Lt. Gen Russel L. Honore (RET), served as the 33rd commanding general of the US First Army at Fort Gillem, Georgia, commander of joint task force Katrina (2004). Awards include the Defense Distinguished Service Medal (one Oak Leaf Cluster), the Distinguished Service Medal (one Oak Leaf Cluster), the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit (four Oak Leaf Clusters), the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (three Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (three Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal (two Bronze Service Stars), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (one Bronze Service Star) the Global War on Terror Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi) and the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait).

John Lundin

John is a writer, author, screenwriter, film producer, environmental activist and spiritual teacher. He describes himself as a 'spiritual agitator.' He is the author of The New Mandala - Eastern Wisdom for Western Living, written in collaboration with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and Journey to the Heart of the World, a fantasy adventure novel written with the indigenous Elders of la Sierra Nevada in Colombia. He is also now a film producer, working on a feature film adaptation of Journey to the Heart of the World. John earned his Master's Degree in theology from Chicago Theological Seminary at the University of Chicago, and he is an ordained Protestant minister and pastoral counselor. In addition to his books, Lundin has written numerous articles for magazines and newspapers, both print and online, including The City Paper Bogotá, Santa Marta Explora, The Democratic Daily and PoliticusUSA. He has lectured and led workshops and spiritual retreats in venues around the world.
